The 2025 National Art Fund Communication and Exchange Promotion Grant Project, "Evolution of Concepts: Chinese Contemporary Print Exhibition Since the 1980s," will be held on August 14, 2025, at the Tianjin Academy of Fine Arts Art Museum Complex (Tianjin Academy of Fine Arts Art Museum, Tianmei Art District Fang Hall, and Yi Lane). Organized by Tianjin Academy of Fine Arts, this exhibition has received strong support from institutions such as the National Art Museum of China, Zhejiang Art Museum, Yichun Art Museum, and the Hu Yichuan Research Institute of Guangzhou Academy of Fine Arts in the preparation of exhibition collections. The "Evolution of Concepts" print exhibition consists of three parts, systematically reviewing the historical development process of Chinese modern and contemporary prints since the emergence of woodcut prints. The exhibition features nearly 500 works from more than 170 artists, making it the largest print exhibition of its kind held by Tianjin Academy of Fine Arts in recent years. The documentary exhibition unit of this exhibition presents for the first time more than 60 exquisite prints collected by the Tianjin Academy of Fine Arts Library. These works are precious collections from the founding of the People's Republic of China, carefully selected by the curatorial team from more than 130 print collections, and are all debuting. In the contemporary print unit, artists have brought representative and important works of their own. At the same time, the exhibition also presents the exploration achievements of non-print professional artists in the field of prints from the perspective of cross-disciplinary practice in printmaking. In the specially added local unit, the curatorial team selected and invited works from active Tianjin Academy of Fine Arts print artists in recent years, allowing audiences to gain a deeper understanding of the teaching characteristics and development status of Tianjin Academy of Fine Arts.
