On August 10th, the "Narrative China - National Narrative and Theme Print Works Invitation Exhibition" (third stop) opened on the first floor of the Batang County Archives in Garze Prefecture, Sichuan Province. The exhibition takes "Narrative China" as the temporal and spatial coordinate, gathering more than 200 representative works of more than 200 printmakers from across the country, interpreting the narrative structure of modern Chinese printmaking that has undergone more than 90 years of development, showcasing the visual appearance and historical trajectory of Chinese printmaking, and promoting communication, exchange, and integration between nations
The exhibition covers five sections: "Emerging Printmaking · National Liberation", "New China · New Image", "Emerging Printmaking · Transformational Development", "Contemporary Printmaking · New Forces", and "Prosperous Era · Praise", showcasing important works of representative printmakers across the country from the 1930s to 2023, spanning over 90 years. Revealed representative works from different historical stages, from emerging printmaking to depicting New China, and then to praising the country and its homeland in the new era; From the square knife straight to the experimental exploration of the original language of printmaking, to the emerging force of contemporary printmaking, these works not only witness social history and express the spiritual outlook of contemporary life, but also present the ideological context and evolutionary path of Chinese printmaking art.
