Screening of ten selected works by students from the 1st through 11th cohorts at the Department of Animation in the Graduate School of Film and New Media at Tokyo University of the Arts. Students in the Department of Animation make individual projects, and so many of the works are strongly colored by the students’ individual experiences and spirituality. Although the films do not directly address this film festival’s theme of autism, the selected films deal with autistic tendencies, or make you think about other psychological disabilities such as depression and panic disorder. In these works, you can see various dimensions experienced by the students, including relationships with school friends, family issues, uncertainty about stepping out into society, and fundamental spiritual issues as human beings.
